Account Approval Process for Students
All Explorer users must have membership in a PI/Staff-owned storage space. If your PI’s lab already has a storage space, then your PI can add you directly using our project command, or you can submit a Research Computing Access Request.
If your lab does not have a storage space, you can submit a New Storage Space Request.
You will receive an email confirmation when your access has been granted. Please note that your account request may take up to 24 hours to complete after your sponsor approves it. Once you have access, if you are unfamiliar with Explorer, high performance computing, or Linux, you may want to review the Research Computing Training Page.
Account Approval Process for PIs and Instructors
PIs and instructors need to complete the Research Computing Access Request form in ServiceNow. You can sponsor yourself, and should use your name in the University Sponsor field. You will still need to approve your access request by following the approval link in the email from ServiceNow. If you are a visiting researcher, you will need to work with your sponsor to obtain a Northeastern username and password.
